eing almost perfect, the S2000 has captured the hearts of many since it first appeared in 1995. The newly improved Honda S2000 Type S impresses with better handling, fiercer design and increased power.
First introduced during the 1995 Tokyo Motor Show, the Honda SSM [Sports Study Model] concept car was the initial experimental study design for the S2000. Featuring a rear wheel drive roadster powered by a 2.0 L four cylinder, it had a push-button starter and central division between the driver and passenger. All of the body panels were aluminum and the car had a perfect 50/50 weight distribution. Appearing unchanged in the following years to come, Honda finally announced the production of the SSM. In the following of Honda’s pioneer 1960s S500, S600, and S800 roadsters, the new vehicle was called the S2000.
