erived from the Greek word “Axia” which means “Things with value”, the Axio moniker was coined by Toyota to epitomize the status of its 10th generation Corolla.
Ever since its debut in 1966, more than 30 million units of the Corolla line of cars have been sold in more than 140 countries and regions throughout the world making it one of the best selling vehicles ever in the automotive history. Since, the launch of the first generation model, the Corolla has gone through 10 generations of innovations and designs, which brings us to the Axio. With regards to the development of the Axio, Toyota adopted the "car-making by a new measure" as their basic theme. The focus by Toyota is the enhancement of basic performance and improving quality, which is the fundamental nature of the Corolla and also to respond to consumer requirements without being restricted by existing paradigms of what a compact vehicle should be.
