Local car enthusiasts finally managed to set their gaze on the car that has been generating all the buzz. The Peugeot 308 Turbo arrives on our shores a full six months after its European launch, and it’s fair to say many of us have been keeping our eyes peeled for this moment. The 308 comes with newly-designed petrol engines jointly developed by BMW and Peugeot. Automotive professionals were raving at its impressive performance and design at the recent Engine Expo in Germany, where it took home top honours for the International Engine of the Year Award in the “1.4-Litre to 1.8-Litre” category. Drawing from a long tradition of small family cars going back to the 1930s, the 308 Turbo succeeds at delicately balancing the demands of the modern family car. Peugeot has taken the car’s design to new heights, incorporating bristling power and luxury into the compact family car.
