ompletely redesigned, the latest Honda City sets a new benchmark for subcompact sedans with its appealing design, powerful engine and utility of space.
Take a lazy glance at the new Honda City 1.5LX and you might be forgiven for thinking that it’s no more than a shinier model of its predecessor that was introduced in 1996. With better understanding and patience, you’ll realise that the Honda team in fact revisited the vehicle’s basic concept and ambitiously aimed to improve every area including design, packaging, driving performance and safety, without being constrained by current standards for the subcompact sedan class. Large Project Leader for the new Honda City, Mr. Takeshi Nakamura, expressed, “our goal was to maintain the easy-to-manoeuvre body size that makes a subcompact vehicle appealing, combined with distinguishing styling and a spacious cabin that is only possible with a sedan, to increase the new City owner’s sense of pride in their vehicle.” The new City is longer, wider and sleeker, and with a new i-VTEC engine is confidently winning over those willing to cast it more than a passing glance.
